Bouquet: Lifted spicy, cherry liquorice fruit flavours integrated with cedar cinnamon oak flavours.
Palate: Rich aniseed cherry plum fruit flavours with spicy oak. The palate is full with lingering soft tannins.
Grapes were picked late April and fermented for 10-12 days on skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. A portion completed fermentation in French and American oak. The wine was aged in a temperature-controlled cellar in oak for up to 16 months prior to bottling. Alcohol by Volume: 13 %
Barwang is the name of McWilliam's vineyard situated in the Hilltops area on the south-west slopes ofthe Great Dividing Range near Young in NSW. Frosts and even snow are common at Barwang, the cool climate and rich, red soils combining to produce wines of remarkable quality.
