The Barossa is Australia’s richest and best known viticultural and winemaking region comprising the historic Barossa and Eden Valley’s. The Barossa is located in the ranges north of the city of Adelaide in the state of South Australia.

Today the Barossa’s special appeal is that it is much more than Australia’s best known wine region. Settled in the 1840’s by German and English pioneers whom planted vines, the Barossa today is the repository of some of the world’s oldest and greatest shiraz vineyards and Peter Lehmann’s vignerons are the fifth and sixth generation custodians of some of these great shiraz vines.

Eight Songs Shiraz is a tribute to these great shiraz vineyards and wines of the Barossa with an understanding of our growers vineyards and the flavour subtleties of Barossa shiraz, we set out to make an individual wine that is both regal and elegant through the use of French oak barrels in both fermentation and maturation.

Colour:

Dense, deep dark purple with a hint of crimson around the edges.

Bouquet:

Powerful and yet seductive with both fruit and oak in harmony.

Palate:

Rich Barossa mocca chocolate flavours and fruit richness balanced with round and gentle French oak tannins that gives the wine great structure and an incredibly long finish. The 1998 Eight Songs Shiraz is from a great shiraz vintage in the Barossa Valley.
