Durif was originally developed in the South of France in the late 1890’s and found its way to Rutherglen in the early part of this century.  It has a reputation for making big full bodied styles of wine with good bottle ageing ability.

Evident on the bouquet.  The palate is full with good flavour length and a firm finish.  Although pleasant to drink in the year 2001 it is well suited for a further 5 years cellaring.

                             Hearty meat dishes e.g. Rich game meats

                             Blue cheeses.
