The Majella Shiraz first appeared in 1991 and has since acquired a reputation as one of Coonawarra’s finest
This 2001 release is no exception! Brick-red in colour, it has the warm spicy nose of the earlier vintages, with a robust palate showing great berry characters with hints of cloves, cinnamon, chocolate and black pepper.
The tannins are quite soft and complement the long, lingering finish.
As ever the fermentation was completed in 300 litre barrels and the wine was then aged for a further 22 months in predominately American oak.
We present it as a great example of Coonawarra Shiraz at its very best.
