DESCRIPTION The Clare Valley region has developed an exceptional reputation for Shiraz production. The 2001 vintage in the Clare Valley is shaping up to be one of the outstanding vintages. The wines exhibit intense colour and palate weight. This 2001 Shiraz displays all the hallmarks of a world-renowned wine. WINE COLOUR Rich, ruby reds highlight deep, vibrant purples. WINE BOUQUET Aromas of plum, nutmeg, coffee and dark chocolate all combine to form an exciting varietal bouquet. Oak derived nuances of toasted nuts, liquorice and cedar linger. WINE PALATE Fruit flavours of ripe berries, cinnamon and blackcurrant intermingle with oak characters of coffee, mocha and creamy vanillin to give a full, rich and ripe palate. The tannins are fine and lingering, offering extreme length and flavour persistence. SUGGESTED FOOD MATCHING Light red meat dishes or a cheese platter. CRITICS NOTES “Vivid purple-red; the bouquet is flooded with clean, fresh blackberry and raspberry fruit with oak somewhere in the background.
