BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Set in the picturesque Clare Valley, the Leasingham tradition evolved from humble beginnings in 1893. Rich soils and cool, moist conditions were perfect foundations for what is today a premium viticultural district. Despite advice to the contrary, Leasingham Wines planted Riesling extensively in the early 1940s. In 1960, this vision led to Leasingham being recognised as the best Riesling producer in South Australia and hence its reputation as a quality wine producer flourished.

Today the tradition lives on with the Leasingham name synonymous with premium, award winning wines.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE:

The 2002 vintage is the best Clare Valley Riesling in 20 years. Showing the hallmarks of the Clare Valley: freshness of fruit and mouth-watering acidity. A blend of Riesling from different sub-regions within the Clare Valley, it has been sourced from the areas of Watervale, Leasingham and the North Eastern ridge. With its perfect ripening conditions, the 2002 vintage allowed good flavour development and fruit freshneness
